On this installment of @yamahamusicusa #silentbass and @laklandbasses Friday, we will discuss "There is Room For Everyone at the Table". Sometimes I feel the music community gets very "cliquey". There are the haves and have nots...the "cool kids". IMO, the quickest way to kill a community is to restrict it. Understand, we as artists are all on the same journey and all of our interests and priorities are valid. Dead beginner thru seasoned pro. Bedroom player to worker bee to celebrity or "god". Self taught player to formally educated with more degrees than thermometer. Rocker, jazzer, metalhead, classical, avant-garde. Super techy gearhead, total gear noob (i.e. me...lol)..NO hierarchy, NO value judgement. All of us can contribute and all can learn from one another regardless of level, experience or status. The only time any "labels" matter is if there is a requirement for a position or gig...u dig? The "how" here is simple...be open...be humble...be teachable...be helpful. Understand that the art/music community needs to be based on inclusiveness, friendship, comradery and artistic exploration to grow and survive. Be a positive force here. The more we realize that we are all in this TOGETHER, the farther we will progress and evolve. As always, I invite your insights. #yamahamusicusa #makewaves #pirastro #glasserny #laklandbasses #sitstrings #tsunamicables #philjonesbass #uptonbassstringinstrumentcompany #basslessons #remotelessons #www.charleysabatino.com
