On this "ya better watch out, ya better not cry" installment of @yamahamusicusa #silentbass and @laklandbasses Friday, we cover the ubiquitous "Made Easy" concept. We see it in countless commercials and infomercials...fitness, learning a language, making money, getting a degree..everywhere. Let's be honest, we all know if it sounds simple and easy, it ain't. ANYTHING worthwhile takes time, effort, sweat, patience and WORK! Shortcuts may seem useful, but my experience shows they hurt in the long run. Learning concepts and skills COMPLETELY is the key to true progress. Now a caveat here..if u have a gig or rehearsal and need to prepare, u do whatever is necessary..u dig? I'm talking about the woodshed. Putting "money in the bank" for future benefit. As usual, how? Approach EVERY concept/skill u study in the woodshed with the goal of eventually (yes, some things will take a LONG time) learning it as completely and intimately as you can. No shortcuts! Use whatever resources you can find and/or afford to research and formulate a plan of attack. Take each one in small manageable chunks. The key is to progress, not be overwhelmed. Be patient! There are things I have been working on in the shed for a long time and intend to be working on them for many years to come. Here, is how you will see progress and yield the most benefit, IMO. In addition, emphasize application as well. It doesn't make sense, IMO, to work on something in the shed without exploring where u will use it in performance. So, the message is to DEEP DIVE in the woodshed. It is the best chance for you to make these skills and concepts truly YOUR OWN. We will have more in 2026. Wishing all of u the Happiest of Holidays and a Safe and Prosperous 2026! #yamahamusicusa #makewaves #pirastro #glasserny #laklandbasses #sitstrings #tsunamicables #philjonesbass #uptonbassstringinstrumentcompany #basslessons  #remotelessons #www.charleysabatino.com
