I was giving a lesson to one of my advanced students Dave and he was taling about not being warm and not having his head ready to imporvize....

Understand, improvisation is only present in the "now" ..nowhere else...it come from the person you are now.....not from some practice session or predetermined place. Yes, the past shedding and preparation help you, but the EXECUTION is in the now.....every milisecond, you are a different person...consequently, every milisecond of your improvisation is different...

The takeaway quote here is you don't come to the solo...the solo COMES TO YOU!!!
